Commenting and Website Guidelines

We ask that you think before you post a comment on our blogs. If you do comment, we require you to follow the etiquette and terms below:

Be honest. Be honest about your identity. If you are a patron, educator, parent, artist, student or Chuchi’s Queer Performing Art Center staff or Board member—say so. We want to know who you are and your area of expertise.

Be accurate. Make sure that you have all the facts before you post. It’s better to verify information first than to post a correction later. Hyperlink your sources whenever possible. If you make an error, correct it quickly and visibly.

Be respectful. Controversial topics and debates are encouraged, but if you feel angry or passionate about a subject, it’s wise to delay posting until you are calm and clear-headed. Be prepared for others to agree and disagree with you and your ideas.

Be professional. Don’t post inappropriate or unrelated content. This includes, but is not limited to: anyone breaking the law, depictions of nudity or violence, profanity, personal contact information, or content that may be deemed offensive, disrespectful, confidential or slanderous. Advertising, promotions, and asking other commenters for money, gifts, or donations are not allowed. Make sure you are contributing valuable content by being aware of the goals of this site. Unrelated, inappropriate, or confidential information is viewed negatively and can lead to you being banned from the page. We reserve the right to remove any content without notice or explanation.

Be helpful. Report any problems you see on the site including posts that break these rules and anyone you suspect doesn’t belong here.

Be aware. It is important to remember that comments and posts may be recorded and stored in multiple places, both on our website and elsewhere on the Internet, which are likely to be accessible for a long time. Be careful and selective about the personal information that you disclose about yourself and others, and do not disclose sensitive, embarrassing, proprietary, or confidential information in the comments.
