Welcome to Chuchi's

A Parlor of Performing Arts for Queer Community

at the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley mountains.

Gender Affirming Clothing Donations

A big thank you to queer community for donating gender affirming clothing to the open closet. Chuchi will be dropping off clothing  at local donation sites in response to the Eaton Canyon wildfires.

To inaugurate the opening of the performing arts parlor and impart creative energy into the grounds, Chuchi commissioned muralist Ryan of @RAWBags to paint a mural of the Otomi lunar goddess, an homage to Chuchi's indigenous ancestors. RAWBags painted this welcoming portrait of the Young Mother, the Mother Elder, playful animals from stories telling of creation, and the Three Sisters crops of squash, corn, and beans. The blending of Otomi traditional art style with comic book style narrative paint a story of the cycles of death and birth, cultivation and hunting, and the harmonic balance of nature.

An interview with the artist and where to commission murals or hand painted leather goods is coming soon!

Our
Story

Get to know Chuchi and Jubei

Sibling duo, Chuchi and Jubei, convert their childhood estate at the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley into a third space for queer community.

Growing up in a Latine household, karaoke, salsa, live music, feasting and chisme were the siblings' foundations for building community. Renassiance ideals, french salons, and kitchen-table entrepenuership also have left their lasting impressions on how to uplift community.

With their combined background in the family business of home renovation, indigenous gardening, as well as involvement in the punk and drag scenes of LA, Chuchi and Jubei are opening the doors to Chuchi's Parlor, an intentional space to collaboratively workshop skills, encourage talent and build social networks with queer community.
